I’m astounded by how many of you have given your blog, email, and Twitter support to the upcoming Second Annual Writers Worth Day cause. Friday’s the day! Here’s the plan – if you post something to your blog this week before Friday that is dedicated to the mission of the Writers Worth Day (and includes a link to here), come back here and post it in the comments section (and send me an email just to be sure I see it). I’ll compile them, post all links to your blog posts here on Friday, and you’ll be entered to win an Amazon gift card! How cool is that?
Have you put up the widget? You’ve entered. Have you posted a link back to here and mentioned the cause? Yep, you too. Have you planned to mark the day with a post educating writers on their value in the market? You’re absolutely entered! Mind you if you post ON Friday, I’ll do my best to get your link up here as soon as I see it, but no guarantees. But you WILL be entered in the contest. If you can find a way to show me your Twitter support messages, you’re entered, as well. (@LoriWidmer)
For those who want to send out a press release, go here. And copy me on the email you send to your friends.
My hope is to celebrate not just the value of our talents, but your participation in the cause and support of our industry. Remember, to be entered, you must tell me about it, either here in the comments or in email (both preferred).
I know some of you have already posted to spread the word. Thank you! And thank you to all who plan to participate. Here’s our chance to make a small dent in the industry by educating our ranks on their true value. How do you plan to spread the word?
Lori,
Thanks for taking the initiative to create Writer’s Worth Day. I have the widget on my blog as well as a post scheduled for Friday.
Lillie, I appreciate it! Thank you. 🙂 Let’s hope what we do inspires others to accept no less than they’re worth.
O hai! OK, now I see that, indeed, we haz giveaway (LOLspeak). Sorry, but I can’t read EVERY post, twit, LinkedIn, comment, etc. of everyone I admire/follow/converse with/etc.
I think I should recuse myself from this contest, however, because I am too wired (both ways) and chatty. I’ve written about this event everywhere I frequent.
Low pay for writers is a battle I’ve been engaged with for … 40 years. And it’s getting worse!
Now, to see what I can do with that release, which I have not yet read…

Georganna, I love it when you’re caffeinated. LOL
Lori, I’m so excited aobut the event, I am just getting back ino writing after a hiatus, with kids and school, so this is going to be my kicking off point to get bak into it. I posted a link and the widget on my blog!
Jennifer
Thank you for bringing a very critical issue into the spotlight. I have posted the link and widget on my blog and hope that other writers as well as other bloggers join in on the event as well.
I posted about Writers Worth Day on my blog. Here’s a link to the post: http://bit.ly/1AjztM
I’m also in the process of posting the widget.
Thanks for taking on this important issue.
Hi Lori,
I’m excited to see so many people involved. Just look what you’ve started!
I have your Writers Worth Day icon and a link on the writer resource page of my site, and (if I can get out from under the backlog soon enough) I plan to send out a special issue of my ezine in honor of the day Friday.
Best wishes!
Here’s my post.
Thank you for this opportunity and good luck to everyone.

It’s a worthwhile event! Incidentally, I’m not sure what widget you’re talking about installing, maybe it’s blogger-centric. I couldn’t find the details at your site.
Dan
Hi Dan, and thanks for the support!
The widget is that little white guy up in the left corner of this blog. It says “Talent is Priceless.” Are you seeing it?
If so, right click on it and you can copy it. If not, shoot me an email and I’ll send one over.
Hi Lori,
Just posted the info on my blog and will install the widget.

It’s not about the contest (which is good incentive though), but I’ve posted about Writers Worth Day on my blog experimentinfiction.blogspot.com and on my Twitter: jdsmodena. Thank you so much raising awareness for all of us writers out there.
Thank you for this wonderful initiative!
As a freelance translator, I face many of the same issues as writers. I’ve posted about Writers Worth Day on my blog and on the forums at TranslatorsCafe.com.
Hi Lori
I came here from Devon’s, but not until Friday I’m afraid. However, I will post a link up in Friday’s blog.
Also added you to my blogroll. Hope that’s ok.
Are you kidding? I’m tickled you’d think of me, Diane! Thanks!
