Your Free Coach
It’s not often that we get free help in our careers. People make big money coaching, consulting and offering career advice. However, there’s one place that exists where a budding writer can get sage advice, lots of help for specific problems/questions and join in a unique camraderie. Check out Anne Wayman’s About Freelance Writing site ( Click Here). Anne offers tons of valuable, and yes, free advice for writers at every level. The forum is a wonderful place to meet working writers and to get top-notch advice. No matter what your specialty/question, chances are someone there can help. Anne also posts jobs twice weekly (sometimes three times, depending on how much work is out there). You can’t miss with this site.
While you’re at it, don’t forget to sign up for Anne’s free newsletter. It’s always great to feel connected to a group of writers who share the same passion. Hopefully, I’ll see you there.
Thank you for the reminder to sign up again for Anne’s newsletter, Lori. After all, she did tell us to do just that! Naturally, I forgot…
I enjoy our forum as it is a great way for peers to compare experiences and to offer encouragement. We can lead truly solitary lives and a writing venue plus our personal blog is one way to stay connected.
Great links on your site, Matt! Thanks for stopping by and adding your kudos to Anne’s newsletter. 🙂
I have to agree, Anne’s site is tops. And the folks there are very generous with experience and advice. It’s more like 50 free coaches! :]

I have enjoyed Anne’s About Freelance Writing site and newsletter since they started. Anne works hard to provide advice, job leads, and encouragement to writers. The newsletter includes articles from the site and more, and the forum provides discussion. The “regular” forum participants include writers from several countries, which makes the perspective even more interesting. The site’s articles and job leads are great, but the gold nugget is the Forum, where literally hundreds of writers exchange ideas, experience, and encouragement. An occasional visit to http://www.aboutfreelancewriting.com is worth a busy writer’s time, and subscribing to Anne’s newsletter is a great way to get this information efficiently.
